Legal rights for a client to pay its outstanding account?
I have a small graphic design business that I'm on the side. by a customer of my grandparents, so it has not signed a formal contract (my mistake !!!). But I record a verbal agreement. How can I get this type pay? What are my rights? What should my next step is after sending several overdue notices? I live in MN if that makes a difference to the law.
You can sue in small claims court. You do not need a contract, simply to convince the court that has been agreed. If you can show that $ 600 is a reasonable amount for the work they did, would not be too difficult to convince the court.
