Street Lawyer

How can I get a copy of street surveillance tapes?
If there was a disturbance on the street, how can I get access to the surveillance tapes that show the action at the time? Do I need a Lawyer for this and how long before the tapes are deleted?
That would depend on who owns/operates the tape. If it is the government/police/feds….get a lawyer and subpoena the tape. If it’s a private business, they do not have to release it to a private party.
