Lawyer Adoption

Need an attorney for an adoption?
My ex husband has waived his rights to the child in our 2 years of our divorce. My husband wants to adopt my son and I have my divorce decree where my ex rights terminated. My question is whether we are absolutely to a Lawyer or can we do for ourselves? If we can do ourselves, what are the steps we must take? We live in Alabama. Thank you!
Call your local courthouse and ask the same question. I would bet that the answer to your question differs from the state or even county, so that might explain why there has been no response yet. On another note, it is absolutely necessary to her current husband to adopt her child? If this is not absolutely necessary, it is probably a good idea. People who take losing basic human rights such as the right to his own family history, medical information, birth certificate. Things may be harder for them later, as it could be harder for them to obtain a passport or health insurance. At least that adoption is an absolute necessity, is in the best interest of your child go to the Supervisors in their place.
